Julia & Eleanor - Intership 2016

18 Jul Intern’s Corner – Julia and Eleanor

This summer, Seeds for Progress is hosting two interns from the University of Pennsylvania, who are jointly working on research and marketing projects. Eleanor Thompson (right), who is originally from Philadelphia, is studying Political Science at Penn with a minor in Hispanic Studies. “This opportunity is providing me with insight beyond what any classroom could ever do. I’m so thankful for the internship not only because of the chance to grow professionally and personally, but also for the love and kindness the team has shown me. I never expected my co-workers to become like a second family to me! But that’s just how giving and caring this Foundation is, both with me and with the hundreds of students, teachers, and communities they work with.”

Julia Slater (left), who is originally from just outside of Los Angeles, is studying English with a minor in Urban Education Policy, Research, and Practice. “I feel honored to work for Seeds, especially for the  breadth of travel and depth of engagement that this position provides me. I get to learn the challenges of developing quality education in rural and remote regions, and the promise that the dedication of the team at Seeds brings.”  They both contribute greatly to the team, and are the inaugural interns in what will be a continued partnership with the International Internship Program (IIP) at Penn. Welcome to the team, Eleanor and Julia!
